Every airport must have an emergency response plan in place in order to be prepared for the worst case scenario: an aircraft mishap at or in the vicinity of an airport.
Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) rescue units attended and successfully completed Introduction to Airport Emergency Response Training at the Subic Bay International Airport on October 6, 2023 participated by Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority's (MCIAA) Fire Officers Headed by Sr. Chief Fire Officer OLIVER C. COLEY, a Certified Instructor under NFPA, PRO-BOARD, IFSAC, DOD, from the US.
Supported and assisted by our CEO / PRESIDENT / Executive Administrator Ms. Anna Liza M. Lagbas together with Alpha-1 Team Cadre Mr. Jerry Carpio Nidoy, Mr. Crisanto Beltran, Mr. Carlito De Guzman, Mr. Ariel Caguia, Mr. Carlo M. Lagbas, and Mr. Arman Zingapan.
The objective of the exercise was to ensure the efficiency and preparedness of SBIA in case of emergencies. An emergency response time of less than two minutes, as targeted, was achieved during the exercise. Philippine National Police (PNP) representatives, and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) representative also took part in the exercise demonstrating the collaborative effort and coordination among different units to handle emergency situations at the airport.
